Bullet Proof Remixed

The last post I did about being bullet proof was a way to take in, retain, and use God’s word in your daily life. Today’s post about bullet proof is about the bullets of people’s words, intentional or accidental, that come in hot and try to puncture your heart and mind. I want to talk about it.

You never prove anything by trying to prove anything.

-Jerrica
God can make you bullet proof. Believe it.

Oftentimes in life we find that people uninvitedly speak into our lives what they think they see in us. Now, some people may be right in what they see, and others, due to them seeing you in a very limited way, just speculate on what they think they see in you. I have had that happen to me one too many times.

So what do you do when you’re misunderstood and spent on people making inferences and judegments on you without you asking their opinion and with them being totally wrong in how they see you? You worship. Sis, I mean push through. Push through like your life depended onit, because it does! Your ability to love is greatly impacted by your ability to see things differently and forgive (even when they don’t ask for forgiveness). Words hurt, and being misunderstood hurts too, but we do not live to please man, we live to please God.

Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ.

Galatians 1:10 NIV

We must worship our way through people’s opinions of us. We must follow the scripture that tells us to put on the spirit of praise for the garment of heaviness, found in Isaiah 61:3. Sis, shake it off so you can love, pray, worship, and heal! Shift your perspective and remind yourself about what God says about you AND your life!

  1. You have enough, and it’s good! “The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; surely I have a delightful inheritance.” -Psalm 16:6 NIV
  2. You are a masterpiece! “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.” – Ephesians 2:10 KJV

Sister, God’s word about you is what reigns supreme. You are so loved! You have a beautiful life, and God is yet beautifying it moment by moment! Release the hurt of people’s words and opinions of you and cling to God’s opinions of you! He will make you bullet proof.

He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.

Psalm 91:4
