“Enthusiasm without knowledge is no good; haste makes mistakes.” (Proverbs 19:2)

I used to want an AMAZING testimony of the goodness of God in my life. In my ignorance I would pray, “Lord, I will go longer, deeper, farther than what’s required in my love for you.” That was SUPER stupid. I thought I was some spiritual superhero and that I could face anything. Now, things are different.

Sis, God knows you love him. He knows that you want to please him in all things and be a shining example of who He is and how He loves everywhere you go, but PLEASE hush for your own sake!

The testimony God has given you is so impactful and so useful for the ears that He will guide you to to share it with. Yes, God can use my “boring” testimony of how I came from a two parent household and got all these degrees for his glory! Why? Because I casted my crown before him, counted it as rubbish, and surrendered my life. I know the pain and beauty that comes from willingly laying down prestige for purity of heart. God can use what you think is “boring” to transform a life.

If your testimony is that God saved you from being promiscuous and made you a wife in 1 year after giving Him your life, etc. then AMEN sis! And if your testimony is that you are 28, 32, 45, waiting on marriage, children, a healing in your body, yet in the waiting you are becoming more radiant through Christ, then AMEN. What we fail to realize is that yes, some women have very compelling testimonies that move a crowd and bring tears and reflection, but that may not be your story. You don’t have to have had the worst of the worst happen to you to have an amazing testimony God can use.

Please do know be zealous without knowledge like I was, literally asking for tests so I could have a “powerful” testimony. Accept what God has apportioned to YOU. Grow in grace. Learn the lessons He is teaching you and then share them. GOD will use it to reach the hearts that need it most. But when you just feel the urge to declare and decree your allegiance and ride or die-ness to the Lord… for your sake Please HUSH! Just live out your love for Him and let HIM draw the story out of your faithfulness.
