From: God A Note on Faith

Hello My Beloved,

I see you. You study and read my word, even memorize my scriptures. I love it because you learn my voice.

I am going to submit something to you however, a note on your proper perception of my word. I know you have heard many sermons about faith, but with grace I say, you’ve gotten it partially right, and partially wrong.

11 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

-Hebrews 11:1

You will not get more correct than this. You have the knowledge of the verse down, but the understanding is where we will do some work.

There are examples in the following verses that explain this first verse because scripture interprets scripture. The following verses tell you what faith does. Faith does not spin around three times, slap its neighbor, or put an olive oil drenched cloth under its pillow. Observe through the Heroes of Faith outlined in Hebrews 11, on what faith really does, then you can determine whether you exercise faith or not in the various situations of life.

Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.

By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which heobtained witnessthat he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh.

By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.

By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went.

By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise:

10 For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God.

11 Through faith also Sara herself received strength to conceive seed, and was delivered of a child when she was past age, because she judged him faithful who had promised.

The last verse I want to share is:

6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Hebrews 11:6

Beloved, does your faith: frame, offer, testify, prepare, obey, sojourn, receive, believe, and seek? Meditate on this word. Exercise it. Let it transform your thinking and actions. Have REAL faith. I’ll help you if you allow me to.

Love, Abba Father
