God revealed a root in me. My Elizabeth was talking to me about strongholds and it made me think. She was saying that every stronghold has a root and we need God to reveal the root so we can confess the sin, so we can be made free. As she was talking, God revealed a root in me for a lie that I’ve held onto at least 24-25 years, and He wants to replace it with truth.
I know… you’re waiting for me to tell you the lie and identify my stronghold… but I will not. I do not want you distracted by my freedom process because I want you to focus on your own.
This is the scripture my Elizabeth broke apart:
For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds
– 2 Corinthians 10:4
My prayer for you is that you get somewhere quiet, and ask God what is my strong hold– that thing that literally consumes your mind, and what is the root of that stronghold— where it was first planted in your mind. Then expect him to reveal it. Do not rush this process. Wait for it because if you really want to know. He really will tell you. And trust me, it will blow your mind!
So what’s next when he reveals it? Deal with it. Let him instruct you on what to pray, if repentance is necessary, repent! If forgiveness is necessary, forgive! If getting rid of your television or downgrading your phone is necessary… do it! You gotta want to be free more than you want this fantasy created in your brain! I’m not talking no freaky stuff, I’m talking fantasies of marriage that you love and hold to more that you love and hold onto God, THAT is a stronghold! That dream of being a mom or that dream job or dream house! A stronghold is a love for anything or obsession with anything that blocks you from hearing, loving, and experiencing God. There are 5 ways they come, but I’m going to have a guest post from My Elizabeth and she will lay this word out.
Guarding your heart builds a fortress to keep what’s in it protected, while strongholds build walls to keep things out. What’s going on in your heart and who built what and with what intention?
Y’all, submit to the process! I am! I have been a poster child for enough foolishness in my life, now, I’ll be one for Christ, and the freedom that comes from laying myself down for Him! Follow suit sis! Get free! Go there with God! Aren’t you tired?!
My prayer for US today is that we do not ignore the exhortation and that we are so desirous of and in love with Jesus that we let him, being the gentleman that he is, deal with what he reveals in us so we can truly be free.
Amen.
Love, Jerrica
