Hello My Beloved,
I love you and I love when you come to me with everything—all your cares and concerns, hurts, joy, and desires. However, there is one thing I have against you, and it is your sharp demands of me. As Holy God and Your Father, I am in control and able to handle the who, what, where, when, why, and how of your life, really, I am.
You are seeking identity and purpose, ministry and mission, direction and clarity, but there is a better way to ask me for it than the way in which you have been asking me for it. “GOD, just tell me what I am supposed to do!” “GOD, just tell me what my purpose is so I can please you!” “GOD, just be my genie and give me everything I want when I want it,” is what it comes across my ears as.
Beloved, just unpack the box. I have a daughter who just moved into the new dwelling I led her to. She packed and set in order every room, except one. She prepared a place for her to rest, her bedroom. She prepared a place to work and be with me, her office/2ndbedroom. She prepared a place to entertain others, her living and dining room. The one place she did not prepare… the place where she was to eat, her kitchen. For a week, she needed two things: utensils, and cups. She needed utensils to cook and eat with. She needed a cup to drink out of. She shuffled back and forth for days as boxed, unopened sat in the kitchen. “What if they are all down in the basement? Ugh, I am not going down there to sift through all those boxes anytime soon.” Not once did it dawn on her to open the boxes within her reach.
So one day, she was tired of looking at the boxes. She opened the box. She saw things she needed to keep, and store, give away, and throw away. She would not have know that if she didn’t open the box. She found exactly what she was looking for as she kept opening boxes! She found all her cups and all her utensils ready for use. She would have known that sooner if she would have opened the box.
Beloved, the things you have been asking for and pleading for, and even demanding from me, are all in the box, my Word. And it is not tucked away in storage, it is within your reach. So all you need to do, is open the box. And even if you do have my truth stored away, do you not find it valuable enough to seek out and sift through? You know you need it, and you even know you have it, because you’ve encountered and used it before. You moved with it, and brought it to the new place I’ve brought you. The only difference between use and loss, is if you do not open the box. Want identity, purpose, direction, mission, ministry, answers, and everything you need? Open the box.
“According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertainunto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:”
